Drilling Fluids

Challenge: Exploratory oil well in ultra-deep water with significant losses of drilling fluid due to permeable geological formation.

Solution: Drilling in PMCD Mode was initiated, we adapted the scarce resources available to the structural and operational limitations using technical knowledge and redesign of the drilling fluid.

Result: The operation continued without unscheduled downtime due to lack of resources. Cost reduction and assurance of well safety have been achieved.

Metrology & Instrumentation

Challenge: Customer faced accuracy and low efficiency issues in their production processes due to inconsistent measurements, outdated equipment, and incompatibility of the material used as the primary element in the flow meters.

Solution: We implemented a comprehensive metrology and instrumentation solution, including the calibration and upgrading of flow meters with primary elements compatible with the working gas of the compressor station.

Result: The accuracy of the measurements was significantly improved, the calculated error for the flow rate due to the failure of the temperature mesh was +0.2%, i.e. 4 million m³ per year more was paid unnecessarily by the customer. Possible systematic errors have been mitigated; We validated the calculation of the measurement uncertainty and made adjustments for real-time monitoring of the processes, providing greater control and operational efficiency.

Challenge: A leading energy company faced the challenge of developing advanced materials to improve the efficiency and sustainability of its combustion and energy storage processes.

Solution: In partnership with the company, we started a project of research, development and selection of advanced materials for key conditions of the process, with a proposal to improve specific properties; able to resist high temperatures, corrosion and wear, as well as promote more efficient and cleaner combustion.

Result: After extensive testing and experimentation, we were able to develop advanced materials that met the company's requirements. These new materials have been successfully implemented in its combustion and storage processes, resulting in a significant reduction in pollutant emissions, increased energy efficiency, and greater equipment durability.
